Chesapeake Crime Line is a community based non-profit organization that partners the police, the media and the community in the fight against crime. We provide a 24-hour, confidential access and offer rewards of up to $1,000 for tips leading to the arrest of individuals wanted for criminal acts.

Is Crime Line Successful?

In 2011, Chesapeake Crime Line received over 300 calls!

As a result:

• Chesapeake police made 33 arrests from Chesapeake Crime Line tips

• Of those arrested, there were 144 criminal charges collectively

• Chesapeake police recovered over $20,000 in property and seized narcotics

• Tipsters received over $8,000 in reward money (none of which comes from local, state or federal funds - solely from funds raised by Chesapeake Crime Line)

Crime Line is successful because it offers the public a safe, anonymous opportunity to help police solve crime in their neighborhoods and also receive a reward for their effort! Often, without the guaranteed anonymity and reward incentive, many crimes might go unsolved.
