UPDATE

August 7th, 2017

 

During the robbery at Speedway detectives learned the suspect stole lottery tickets in addition to the money.  After the robbery occurred on July 29th, 2017 this unknown male was captured on surveillance in Portsmouth cashing in one of the stolen lottery tickets from Speedway later the same day.

UNSOLVED HOMICIDE

 

On July 26th, 2017 Curtis Overton, age 61 was killed in the 3200 block of Camelot Blvd. Overton was known to collect abandoned items left on the curb for trash pick-up.  He was loading items into his yellow older model GMC Avalanche when he was shot multiple times.

 

There were no known witnesses reported.  There are currently no suspects or leads on this case.  There is a reward of up to $1000 if your information leads to an arrest.  You can remain anonymous.

August 4th, 2017

 

SUSPECT ROBS TWO STORES

 

On July 29th, 2017 this unknown male entered the Speedway convenience store located in the 3200 block of Western Branch Blvd., approached the cashier, implied he had a gun and demanded money. 

 

On July 31st, 2017 the same individual robbed the 7-11 located nearby.  The suspect fled both scenes with an undisclosed amount of money.  There were no injuries reported.

SHOPLIFTING SUSPECT

 

On July 22nd, 2017 an unknown male left a department store located in the 2400 block of Chesapeake Square Ring Rd. without paying for the merchandise in his possession.

ROBBERY SUSPECT

 

On July 12th, 2017 this unknown male entered a convenience store located in the 3000 block of Western Branch Blvd. and purchased some candy.  When the cashier opened the drawer, the suspect grabbed the money inside. As he was doing this, the cashier attempted to pull the drawer from the suspect and he pulled it back from her.

 

The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.  There were no injuries reported.

FRAUDULENT USE OF A CREDIT CARD

 

On July 8th, 2017 a police report was taken for a wallet that was stolen from a business located in the 500 block of S. Battlefield Blvd. The victim’s credit card was used to purchase over $200 worth of merchandise shortly thereafter at a pharmacy located nearby on Hanbury Rd.

FRAUDULENT USE OF A CREDIT CARD

 

On June 23RD, 2017 a female reported her wallet missing from a parking lot of a church.  Three hours later this unknown male was captured on surveillance using the woman’s credit cards at a convenience store located in the 1100 block of Portlock Rd.

LARCENY SUSPECT

 

On July 13th, 2017 an unknown male dressed as an employee snuck behind the counter of a grocery store located in the 400 block of Kempsville Rd. and stole nearly $750 worth of cigarettes & lottery tickets.  The suspect was seen leaving the area in a small red SUV with a spare tire on the back.

LARCENY SUSPECTS

 

On June 23rd, 2017 an individual reported they dropped their wallet in the parking lot of a convenience store located in the 2100 block of Starmount Pkwy.  On the store’s surveillance camera these two females are seen picking up the wallet, entering the store and using the victim’s credit card to purchase merchandise.  The two were seen leaving the area in a green minivan.

On June 14th, 2017 an unknown male stole over $200 worth of merchandise from a department store located in the 2400 block of Chesapeake Square Ring Rd.

SHOPLIFTING SUSPECTS

 

On May 20th & June 23rd, 2017 two unknown females stole merchandise worth $2500 from a store located in the 200 block of Hillcrest Pkwy. The two fled the area in a white pick-up truck with an extended cab.   Video of one of the suspects is attached as well as these photos.

On June 9th, 2017, an unknown male and female committed a larceny from a business located in the 4200 block of Portsmouth Blvd.  The suspects left in a newer model, silver SUV, with an unknown suspect driving.
